I Love Me, I Love Me Not… Tips to Create a Healthy Self-Love while Becoming Emotionally and Spiritually Fit

Rebecca is a Jesus lover, business owner of Simply Becoming (an online Christian Mentoring/counseling service) and Blue Room Publications. She is a Master’s Level counselor, and has been counseling for over 10 years. She works with adolescent-adult females and gently leads them back to truth and healing through counseling & prayer. She loves reminding women who they are, what she sees in them still shining through the dull, and who they are created to be. It’s pure joy when they familiarise themselves with the truth they have forgotten over the years. Basically, she walks with women as they BECOME all they are created for. 

Rebecca is married to her college sweetheart of 22 years (he’s a rock), and they have three awesomely adventurous boys (ages 17, 16, and 12). They fill her heart with joy and her laundry room with a stinky, sweaty aroma. She enjoys spending time with all of them!

Rebecca joined me on the podcast today to talk all about loving yourself and why it’s so important. 

As women, it can be so easy to drown ourselves in negative self-talk, whether it’s related to body image, comparing ourselves to others, or seeking outside approval. And society can play such a huge role in the way we love…or don’t love ourselves. But here’s the thing sweet friend…God tells us in His word to “love yourself”. Wait…what?! 

Yes! Our Holy Father has called you to love yourself! He created you…beautiful, unique you! And He has called you to love what He has created!

Think about that for a minute. Push all of the negative self talk aside. Push away the thoughts of failure, of thinking you’re not good enough and just focus on this: God loves you. God is content with you…just.as.you.are! 

Powerful, right? When we begin to see ourselves as God sees us, and be obedient in what he calls us to do, beautiful things can happen. Rebecca dives into this even further in today’s episode as she shares specific scripture on how we can begin a healthy journey of self-love, as soon as today, starting right where you are.
