4 Things I Pray About Daily

(Yes, I really do pray about #3)

Prayer is a direct line to the Heavenly Father. I don’t know how I would get through the day without it. Often times, I’m having a “conversation” with God all throughout the day. Each time I experience a blessing, I will whisper a prayer of gratitude, when I feel afraid, I’ll ask God to wrap his safe arms around me or when I’m alone in my car, I’ll sing a song of praise. People have conversations with God in many different ways. My favorite thing is really to have short conversations with the Lord all day long, but I do take time every day to be still and pray focused and intentionally (over my family and myself). These are the 4 things I pray about daily:

“I take time every day to be still and pray focused and intentionally.”

1. Wisdom:

We are told many times in the Bible to “get wisdom.” (Proverbs 4:5-9) I pray for God to convict my heart to continuously seek wisdom by digging into scripture and prayer and mentors. I pray that he would help me discern the wisdom he has shown me. Most importantly, I pray that I would choose over and over again to be an empty vessel whom he can speak his wisdom through to impact many others.

2. Protection & Good Health:

We all run into situations where we feel uncomfortable or scared. In these times, as well as daily, I pray for God to cover my family and myself with a hedge of protection. The Lord will go before us. He tells us repeatedly “Do Not Be Afraid,” (Isaiah 41:10) and “Be Strong and Courageous.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) I pray that God will make me bold as a lion and fill me with the courage to do what’s right, even when it’s hard or confusing. I also pray that God will bless my family and myself with excellent health, so we may continue shining his light!

3. Blessing & Favor:

Yep, I ASK God to POUR out his blessing and favor over my family and me. Once I was having quiet time with God, asking him why his blessings were so abundant in my life. He quietly whispered to my heart “I am blessing you, so you can bless others.” I have never forgotten that moment. God wants his very best for us. He wants his best for ALL of his children. And he wants us to love one another and pass along the blessings. We are told “Ask and ye shall receive.” (John 16:24) So I ask. I often receive. And I do my best to faithfully pass the blessings on.

4. To Grow Deeper in Relationship with Jesus:

I pray that God would tug at my heart to continuously grow deeper in my relationship with Jesus, because I want to know him more. I desire to be more like him and I want his light shining SO bright inside my heart that when I walk into a room, it lights up with the Holy Spirit. Also, I pray that my family would desire to grow deeper and deeper in relationship with Jesus, and that they would love him more each day. And I pray that God would give me the wisdom to teach my kids and show by example how to grow deeper in relationship with Jesus every single day.

My prayer always ends with asking for these things in the name of Jesus and that God would be glorified. We serve a big God and I believe it brings him honor when we lay these things at his feet, totally believing that he is capable of handling every single area of our life. I also believe it brings God honor when we acknowledge and trust that he knows what is best for our lives.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, Plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) We can rest assured, knowing that he loves us, accepts us and wants the best for us. That makes it a joy to pray about these 4 things daily.

  1. I love this! “I am blessing you, so you can bless others.” I need to remember that as well! I so often think I need all kinds of different blessings so I can bless others but because I have God, I have all the blessings I need to bless others.
