Is Your “Christianity” Turning People away from Christ?

TUNE IN: APPLE PODCASTS | STITCHER | SPOTIFY AMAZON MUSIC

My brother, Dr. Curt Livesay is someone who loves Jesus, his family and business. He’s freakishly intelligent, yet incredibly humble. He’s a lifelong learner, a “mad scientist” so to speak and quite frankly, he’s one of my very best friends.

You might have heard me tell the story about how he used to wear a shirt in high school that said “Jesus Freak”. He was never ashamed of his faith and I was always so admirable of that. But as we hear in this episode, Curt didn’t always have the best approach to sharing his faith with others and rather than leading others to Christ, he was actually turning them away.

We know that everyone has their own opinions and perspectives. But it seems that in sharing those differences, some have lost the true meaning of Christianity. Because it’s not about turning our backs to others who think or act differently than us. It’s about loving those people, just as God loves us. It’s about letting your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5: 15-16).

Tune in to episode #32 of the Stepping Into a Joy Filled Life podcast as Curt and I discuss:

  • Curt’s journey through following Christ
  • How he realized he was turning people away rather than leading them towards Christianity
  • Why actions are more meaningful than words
  • How Christianity is both inclusive and exclusive
  • The right way to bring others to Christ
  • How we can love others just as God loves us
