Many of you know me as a joy-filled wife, mama and daughter of Christ. But the truth is, I wasn’t always this way. I walked through some things early in life that left me completely broken. Looking back, joyful was not at all how I would describe myself.
So, what changed? Well, after meeting my (now) husband and walking through some rocky times in our first few years of marriage because of what I had dealt with in my past, I began to dig deep. I knew I wanted more out of my life but I didn’t know what to do. While I knew about God back then, I didn’t have a personal relationship with Him and after connecting with a life coach, I learned what that relationship really looked like. I learned about the power of forgiveness and honor and grace. And at the age of 26, God spoke to me in the middle of the night and told me that everything I had walked through, all of the trials and the brokenness, had led me to what I have now…my loving husband, my beautiful children. That night, I gave my heart to the Lord. I gave Him my past and my present and permission to lead me into a life that is good.
Now, everything since that night has not been perfect. God is going to walk us through hard times that will refine us and help us grow closer to Him. But I will say that I found peace and freedom and abundant joy…because joy comes from the Lord.
Having a deep and personal relationship with God and knowing who you are in Him will change your life! It will give you the ability to stay joyful amongst the negativity and unpredictability of this world.
So, in this episode, I’m chatting with my friend Angela Barnard about how you can get out of that negative space as well as some of the things that can suck the joy right out of your life and keep you from living your full potential. Plus you’ll learn how you can actually look for and create joy in your life and how to grow with every lesson that comes your way.
Remember, sweet sister, God is always with you and you are worthy!
