My daughter has the sweetest, most awesome kids in her class.
She’s great friends with many of them, but when it comes down to her very best friends, her “tribe,” there is a LOT of strong will and independence in that group of girls. I’m talking fierce girl power, in the very best way.
This group of girls will change the world, if they decide to work together and let their best qualities collectively shine. It will begin in their school, especially when they get to high school and it will spread throughout the community and beyond. These girls could be the ones who put an end to the terms “mean girls” and “bullying.” Because when they lead by example, others will see their lights shining, and they will follow. I’m so proud of them and I pray the path they take together is one of kindness, standing up for what’s right, and using their influence to promote positivity. I BELIEVE that they will!
Everyone needs a tribe– a group they can really lean into when they’re in a tough spot, friends they can spend time with, having fun and uplifting each other! Everyone needs a tribe of people they can count on.
Here are some of the best things about having a tribe…
- You and your tribe can work together and use your influence for GOOD! There’s power in numbers. When one person is doing the right thing, that’s great! But when an entire tribe is doing the right thing- spreading kindness, helping others, showing honor and respect- that’s downright POWERFUL!
- Your tribe has always got your back. When you’re going through something tough… you’re grieving a loss, you’re forced into making a tough decision, you’ve been hurt– your tribe will be there to hug you and to listen. They won’t to try to “fix” you, or over talk the situation. They understand you just need to be heard.
- They’ll tell you the (hard) truth. If you’re about to make a decision that may completely wreck your life, they’ll tell you “You’re about to make a decision that may completely wreck your life. Maybe you should reconsider.” None of us are perfect. Sometimes a little outside, loving perspective can go a long way, especially when it comes to major life decisions. Our tribe loves us, wants the best for us and is willing to tell us the hard truth.
Find your tribe! It could be your family, a group of your friends or even people on your business team. Find a group of people that will inspire you, uplift you and speak life over you. But don’t let it stop there, pull together with your tribe and use your influence for good, because we are better together. And together, we can influence for good in a powerful way.
