Have you ever referred to yourself as a “Hot Mess”? I’ll be honest…I definitely have. But the Lord has been working on me to kick that motto and to stop embracing that culture where everything is crazy, overwhelming and stressful. Because the truth is…that culture infiltrates every part of our life. It infiltrates our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. It seeps down into our families and into our home. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want that in my home.
So as you’re thinking about what the culture is inside your home, inside your mind and body, consider the following questions:
-What are you identifying with?
-What are you believing, expecting, focusing on? Because whatever it is, it’s what you’re getting more of and creating in your life.
-Are you intentionally setting yourself up for success?
I strongly encourage you to sit with God and chew on those questions for a bit.
And in today’s episode, I’m sharing a few practical ways that I set myself up for success spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically to ditch the “hot mess” mom culture.
If you’re done embracing the Hot Mess Mom culture too, YOU alone have the power to change it in your own life. I can’t change it for you. And if you’re happy with where you are, that’s cool! I’m definitely not here to judge. But I personally believe that we always have room for improvement and growth, and this just might be the area where we need to stretch and grow.
Maybe you just want to take the tips I’m giving you today and implement one or two things and that makes your life better and that’s awesome! Or maybe your heart has been convicted that the Hot Mess Express Mom Life is not serving your family well, so you’re ready for a full blown life change in this area…
All I can say is… Your life will be what you make it. It will be a reflection of the choices YOU make!
So if you’re truly ready to break up with being a Hot Mess Mom, stop identifying with it, stop focusing on it, stop speaking and stop creating it. The easiest and best first step, even ahead of implementing all the tips I gave you, is to renew your mind with truth and embrace the truth.
And the truth is…You’re a mom who is capable, who is doing her best, who loves her family and wants to serve them well and who is embracing growth and stepping into all that God created her to be.
