In a rapidly changing world, our smart phones bring us a sense of comfort and convenience. They are how we work, share and connect with the world.
Do I believe in clinging to a smartphone every second of the day? NO. Our best life happens when we get out there and actually live it, unplugged. However, when it comes to work or long distance connection, our smart phones can be a great tool.
Today, I’m sharing 6 apps that I can’t live without. This is not an advertisement, just a real life share of the apps that make my life easier! Here we go!
Ink Cards
This app allows me to create and mail a postcard quickly and easily, without ever physically touching it. They have lots of great designs to choose from, covering any occasion you can imagine. I’ve sent Birthday, Mother’s Day, Valentines and even our Christmas cards through the Ink Cards app.
I upload a photo, design my card and instantly mail it out with the touch of a finger. You can even create a bunch of cards at once and then schedule when you want them to mail out. No more forgotten Birthdays!
Using Ink Cards (especially at Christmas time when we are mailing out hundreds of cards) has saved SO much time, money and stress! I also love to send quick notes of encouragement to family, friends and team members. Ink Cards make it a breeze!
WordSwag
WordSwag is a design app where you can pair fun, funky or pretty fonts with images. You can upload your own photos and add the text to them, or WordSwag offers lots of great free photos you can choose from instead.
This app is especially useful when preparing posts for a business page on Instagram or Facebook!
Canva
Canva reminds me of Microsoft Publisher, only way better (and way more convenient)! You can use it on your smartphone or computer to produce a variety of great looking publications.
Canva offers preset sizes for whatever you want to create, from flyers to Pinterest graphics to Facebook cover photos. They have beautiful images and fonts to choose from and every aspect of your design is completely customizable!
Podcasts
I’m obsessed with listening to Podcasts. I use the app that comes standard on the iPhone and it works great! I love that I can “save” my favorite episodes, as well as load “Play Next” episodes into the queue.
Bonus: My favorite podcasts at the moment include “Rise Podcast” with Rachel Hollis, “The Goal Digger Podcast” with Jenna Kutcher, “The Messy Table” with Jenn Jewel and “The Bloom and Grow Show” with Amber Housley. My kids and I love listening to “All of Your Beeswax” with Keoni and Pat Flynn.
Audible
If a Podcast isn’t playing, then I’m listening to a book on the Audible app. If you enjoy audio books, Audible offers a great monthly subscription program so you never run out of listening options!
I love that I can switch between books and the Audible app will save my place. Also, you can bookmark parts of the audio that are especially important.
Once you’re done listening to a book it stays in your Audible library, so you can listen to it over and over again.
Currently, I’m “reading” the book “Girl, Stop Apologizing” by Rachel Hollis and I recently finished “Body Love” by Kelly LeVeque. I can’t wait to dig into “Kind is the New Classy” by Candace Cameron Bure next!
White Noise
White Noise is my favorite app to use while traveling. It’s my simple go-to that helps me sleep soundly in a hotel, where there’s often disruptive hallway noise.
At home, I run a fan during the night for that blessed, steady white noise, but on the road… well, using a simple app on my phone is way more convenient than dragging a fan around!
I plug my phone in, crank up the white noise app and sleep like a baby all night long. Ahh.
